Clouseau the Frog was named by one of my followers on TikTok. The name, "Clouseau," comes from the old Pink Panther cartoon; he is the clumsy inspector that gives chase to the main character.
I was inspired by a cute frog character at my kids' dentist. For every dental appointment, I just stared at this too-cute critter riding in a too-cute clown car with a half dozen other zoo animals. I chose the frog to try my hand at a simple pattern that I can post for free on my Instagram (@cultamigurumi). I hope you enjoy making this lil' guy as much as I did. Enjoy!

Materials
- option 1: Stylecraft Special DK (black, white, green); 2mm crochet hook
- option 2: Red Heart Super Saver (black, white, green); 2.75mm hook
- scissors
- yarn needle
- stuffing
Terms to Know
- CH - chain
- BP - back post of chain
- SC - single crochet
- INC - increase
- DEC - invisible decrease
- SL ST - slip stitch
- BLO - back loop only
- FO - fasten off

Body (green)
- CH2, 6SC in BP
- INC, SC, 3X [9]
- 9SC
- INC, 2SC, 3X [12]
- SC, INC, 6X [18]
- 18SC
- 2SC, INC, 6X [24]
- 24SC
- 7SC, INC, 3X [27]
- 27SC
- 8SC, INC, 3X [30]
- 30SC
- BLO, 30SC
- Stuff the body, do not overstuff.
- 3SC, DEC, 6X [24]
- 2SC, DEC, 6X [18]
- SC, DEC, 6X [12]
- The bottom of the body should be flat.
- FO: cinch to close, tie off, and tuck the tail into the body. Cut any excess.
Pupils [make 2, black]
- Leave a long tail, CH2, 8SC in BP
- FO, SL ST and leave a tail same length as the beginning tail.
Limbs (make 4, green)
- Leave a long tail, CH12, 3 SL ST back
- CH4, 3 SL ST back, repeat (3 'fingers')
- SL ST back to original first CH [8 SL ST]
- FO, leave a tail same length as starting tail.
Small Eye (white, green)
- White, CH2, 6SC in BP
- INC, 6X [12]
- FO, leave a medium length tail
- Repeat with Green. Do NOT FO.
- Layer the White over the Green and crochet together: SC, INC, 6X [18]
- Tuck in any short tails between the two circles.
- FO: SL ST, and leave a long tail.
Big Eye (white, green)
- White, CH2, 6SC in BP
- INC, 6X [12]
- SC, INC, 6X [18]
- FO, leave a medium length tail
- Repeat with Green. Do NOT FO.
- Layer the White over the Green and crochet together: 2SC, INC, 6X [24]
- Tuck in any short tails between the two circles.
- FO: SL ST, and leave a long tail.
Assembly
- Sew on the limbs.
- Sew on the eyes.
- Sew the pupils onto the eyes.
- Sew a "V" for the mouth.
Your frog is complete!
