Jackalope Jr. Pattern
Jackalope Jr. is the updated and upgraded version of my first baby jackalope pattern. I wanted a more intricate design that still had the cult-kawaii aesthetic. I hope you enjoy making this little dude!

Materials
- 2mm crochet hook
- Stylecraft Special DK yarn [black, white, stone, and mocha]
- [yarn colors: all body parts are STONE. Antlers, inner ears, tail and details are MOCHA.]
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker/ piece of contrasting yarn color
- Poly-fil stuffing [with stick that comes in it]
Terms to know
- MC- magic circle, or CH2, 6SC in 1st CH.
- SC- single crochet
- INC- increase
- DEC- invisible decrease
- CH- chain
- SL ST- slip stitch
- HDC- half double crochet
- DC- double crochet
- FLO- front loop only
- FO- fasten/ finish off [cinch to close method/ or pull tail out of last stitch. Will detail which to use]
- Special technique: SC opening together [instead of cinching a piece off, you flatten the opening and crochet it together. May also be used to combine two pieces together.]

Feet [make 2]

Legs/ Thighs [make 2]

- FO, CH1, leave a generous tail before cutting, and pull the tail through the CH.
Details [Mocha]
- Take a generous amount of Mocha yarn, and sew on 3 lines over the tips of the FEET and ARMS.
- Tie off and tuck the ends into the piece.
Pupils [make 2, black]
- Leave a generous tail, CH2, 6SC in the 1st CH, FO, leave the same length of tail as the beginning before cutting, and pull the tail out the last stitch.
Eyes [make 2, white]
- MC, 6SC
- INC, 6X [12]
- SC, INC, 6X [18]
- 18SC for 2 rounds
- 4SC, DEC, 3X [15]
- 3SC, DEC, 3X [12]
- 2SC, DEC, 3X [9]
- SC, DEC, 3X [6]
- FO, leave a generous tail, snip and pull the tail out of the last stitch.
Eyelids [make 2, stone]
- Leave a generous tail, CH10, HDC in the 2nd CH from the hook, 8HDC, CH1, turn
- HDC and DC in the same stitch, 7DC, DC and HDC in the last stitch, CH2, SL ST in the last stitch of the 1st row.
- Leave the same length of tail as the beginning.
Tail [mocha, image not shown until assembly]
- MC, 6SC
- INC, 6X [12]
- SC, INC 6X [18]
- 18SC for 2 rounds
- FO, leave a generous tail, and pull the tail out of the last stitch.
Antlers [make 2, mocha]
- 1st Part: MC, 6SC
- 2SC, INC, 3X [9]
- 9SC
- FO, pull tail out of the last stitch.
- Thread the tail, go through the next stitch, and into the middle of the stitch you pulled out from. End it by sewing through the middle of the MC. Do not snip yet.
- 2nd Part: MC, 6SC
- SC, INC, 3X [9]
- 9SC for 3 rounds
- Put both antlers side by side, and SC around the shorter antler.
- 5SC, place a stitch marker here to begin the next round
- 18SC
- SC, DEC, 6X [12]
- 12SC for 2 rounds.
- FO, leave a generous tail and pull the tail out of the last stitch.
Ears [make 2 each, inner ear: mocha, outer ear: stone]
Inner ear [Mocha]
- CH19, DC in the 3rd CH from the hook, DC in each of the next 15CH, 3DC in the 1st CH, 16DC in the opposite side of the foundation chain. [35DC]
- CH2, 16 DC, 2DC in the next 3 stitches, 16DC, CH2, SL ST
- FO, leave a medium length tail before snipping.
Outer ear [Stone]
- Repeat as inner ear, but do not FO.
- Place the inner ear in front of the outer ear and SC the two pieces together, 16SC, [SC, INC] 3X, 16SC, CH1
- Tuck the medium length tail of the inner ear in between the ears, SC the opening together, CH1, do not cut yet. [9]
- Fold the ear in half longways and SC the edge together [4]
- CH1, leave a generous tail before snipping.
Assembly
For the eyes, cinch the top closed. Run the tail through to the bottom of the eye. Start sewing the eye to the cheek. Make sure both eyes are like teardrops with their points tilting towards each other.
Sew on the eyelids. Then sew on the pupils. Sew on the nose.
Stuff the thighs lightly before sewing them on. Sew on the feet beneath the thighs and the body. Stuff the tail lightly before sewing it on.
Sew on the arms. Sew on the ears. Stuff the antlers lightly before sewing it on.
